Cross-Border Fulfillment Services

Make shipping cross-border simple. With our cross-border fulfillment services, your Canadian customers get their orders quickly, affordably, and without surprise fees.
THE CHALLENGE
What is Cross-Border Logistics?
Cross-border logistics is the process of moving goods across international borders. For U.S. businesses selling to Canada, managing this on an order-by-order basis is inefficient. Each package requires customs declarations, faces inspection, and potential delays.
This traditional method of cross-border shipping from U.S. to Canada is complex and costly.
A Smarter Cross-Border Fulfillment Solution
Instead of handling each order individually, you ship inventory in bulk to our Canadian fulfillment centre. From that point on, we handle every Canadian order as a simple, local delivery.
- The complex international crossing happens only once.
- You save significant time and money on shipping costs.
- Your Canadian customers get a fast, local buying experience.

Shipping Across the Border: What to Expect
Step 1
Ship Your Inventory to Us
Send your products in bulk (LTL or FTL) to our warehousing & storage in Ontario, Canada. We work with your preferred carrier to coordinate the delivery appointment and ensure a smooth hand-off at our facility.
This is the only time your inventory will ever need to cross the border.

Step 2
We Coordinate Intake
You or your broker handle the customs clearance, while we handle the logistics of receiving. Simply notify us of the incoming shipment and provide our contact details to your carrier. We coordinate the appointment date/time and attach your provided paperwork for smooth receiving.
Step 3
We Store Your Products
When your shipment arrives, we inspect it for accuracy and damage. Your inventory is then placed into secure storage within our 187,000 sq. ft. facility. You get full visibility through our EDI-ready warehouse management system (WMS) to track your stock in real-time.
Step 4

Why You Need a Canadian Fulfillment Partner
Our dedicated cross–border fulfillment service transforms challenges into competitive advantages.
Lower Shipping Costs
The Challenge: Shipping individual orders internationally means paying high rates, duties, and brokerage fees for every single package.
The Solution: By consolidating inventory into one bulk freight shipment, you only pay for the border crossing once. Every order then ships at cheaper domestic rates.
Faster Delivery Times
The Challenge: When every parcel has to clear customs, delivery times become unpredictable and slow, leading to abandoned carts.
The Solution: You ship your inventory across the border before customers order. Fulfilling from our Canadian warehouse eliminates the customs bottleneck for individual sales.
Better Customer Experience
The Challenge: Long waits followed by an unexpected bill for duties and taxes at the door leads to refused deliveries and negative reviews.
The Solution: We help you provide a truly local order experience. Quick delivery with no hidden fees builds trust and encourages repeat business.
Streamlined Operations
The Challenge: The cost and complexity of leasing your own warehouse, hiring staff, and navigating different labour laws are significant barriers to entry.
The Solution: Partnering with us gives you an instant Canadian logistics operation, without the massive upfront investment. Focus on marketing while we handle distribution.

Cross-Border Fulfillment FAQs
Have more questions? We have answers.
What is cross-border shipping and fulfillment?
Cross-border fulfillment is the process of storing, packing, and shipping product orders to customers in another country. For example, if your business is in the U.S., a cross-border fulfillment service would handle the Canadian side of your logistics. This includes managing warehousing, pick and pack, and final delivery to the end customer.
What is the "traditional method" of cross-border shipping?
The traditional method involves managing the logistics for each individual sale on an order-by-order basis. With this method, every single package requires its own customs declarations, faces potential inspection, and is subject to delays at the border. This approach multiplies complexity and cost.
How does using a fulfillment partner help with shipping to Canada?
Using a Canadian-based fulfillment partner like KAIN Logistics simplifies the process significantly. When you warehouse your products in our Ontario facility, shipments to your Canadian customers become domestic, not international. This eliminates customs-related delays for individual parcels, accelerates delivery times, and is often more cost-effective than handling cross-border shipping yourself. We handle the complexities of Canadian logistics and finding the best carriers.
My business is in the U.S. How can KAIN Logistics help me sell to Canadian customers?
KAIN Logistics acts as your gateway to the Canadian market. You ship your products in bulk to our warehouse in Simcoe, Ontario. When a Canadian customer places an order, we pick, pack, and ship it directly from our facility. This means your customers get their orders faster, without the delays and complexities of international shipping. Our team are experts in the customs and compliance paperwork required for moving goods between the U.S. and Canada.
Where is your warehouse located?
Our 187,000 sq. ft. warehouse is strategically located in Simcoe, Ontario. This location is just outside the Greater Toronto Area (Canada’s largest population centre) and about two hours from the Canada-U.S. border. Its proximity to major highways and airports helps streamline deliveries across the country.
What is a Warehouse Management System (WMS)?
A Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a system that allows you to track your stock in real-time. Once your inventory is inspected and placed into secure storage at the warehouse, a WMS gives you full visibility to monitor your stock levels.
